Explore Nordhavn, Copenhagen’s cutting-edge harbor district, with the Danish Architecture Centre. This new neighborhood in the northern part of the city’s harbor showcases sustainable innovations, creative transformations, harbor baths, and an award-winning rooftop playground. Join us as we uncover the story of Copenhagen’s latest urban development.

Not long ago, this area was a bustling industrial hub, filled with workers in blue uniforms, noisy machinery, and the sounds of heavy industry. Today, it has been transformed into a vibrant harbor district with residential spaces, recreational areas, and cultural landmarks – all beautifully designed with sustainability in mind. Nordhavn is now home to award-winning architecture, reimagined industrial silos, an extended Metro line, and carefully preserved elements of the harbor’s industrial past.

Our journey begins at DAC in BLOX, located on the harbor front in central Copenhagen. From there, we’ll walk to the nearest Metro station (M4) and continue the tour on foot, starting from Nordhavn Station.

Tour Highlights:

  • BIG’s Headquarters – A striking architectural design (BIG, 2023).
  • Lüders Parking Garage – Featuring a rooftop sports facility (JAJA Architects, 2016).
  • The Silo – A former industrial silo transformed into luxury apartments (Cobe, 2017).
  • Nordøen – A stunning office building (Tredje Natur, Vilhelm Lauritzen, 2024).
  • The Nordhavn Masterplan – An innovative urban strategy shaping the district’s future (Cobe, 2008).

(Note: The tour does not include entry to these buildings/sites.)
