Rusty screws, left over keyholes, and wavy bubble wrap. Visit DAC’s Family Workshop and create stunning prints using old building materials in quirky shapes and fascinating patterns. Build fun structures with mini bricks – and reach into our mystery boxes to guess what’s hidden inside!
Step into our cozy family workshop, where we explore reuse and architecture—hands-on and through all the senses. Inspired by DAC’s current exhibition Recycle!, this workshop offers creative activities for both children and adults.
DAC’s hosts are ready to welcome you and guide you through artistic printing, building play, and sensory experiences.
Print the Architecture
Ornate panels, cold door handles, and grooved pipes. Roll paint onto the surfaces and press them onto cardboard—watch as the hidden layers, shapes, and textures of buildings appear before your eyes. Your print becomes a small work of art to take home or gift to someone special.
Build, Tear Down, and Build Again!
Put on a construction helmet and get creative with mini bricks and wooden blocks. Add to existing structures or tear them down and start over—just like we should in real-life construction, where materials are reused again and again.
Guess a Building Material
Reach into our mystery boxes and guess what’s inside! Can you tell the difference between roofing felt and insulation just by using your fingertips?
Through play and experimentation, we’ll discover the hidden treasures in buildings—and why recycling is key to the future of construction.
Practical Information
Participation is free with paid admission. Children enter for free but must be accompanied by an adult. No registration—just drop by!
This workshop is created in collaboration with the Municipality of Copenhagen and Sydhavns Recycling Center, which has donated repurposed materials for the activities.
