Family Workshop: Fish Hotels and Floating Architecture

Family workshop

Date

October 12 – November 10

Time

Every weekend from 11 AM to 4 PM
Holidays from 11 AM to 5 PM

Join us to create colorful fish hotels and experiment with floating architecture. You can decorate seashells for the fish’s new hideaways and build houses that can float on water.

Join us and learn about the city’s fish and underwater life. At the Educatorium, together with DAC hosts, you can explore life underwater through fun and creative activities inspired by the exhibition Water is Coming. Create architecture for both people and fish!

Create Quirky Fish Hotels

Have you heard of insect hotels? Now you can help small fish by decorating mussel and oyster shells. These will later be submerged at Amager Beach as part of a fish hotel that you can visit next summer. Take a decorated shell home as a keepsake.

Build a Floating House

Make your own house out of recycled materials and test if it will float. Will it withstand waves? See how well your construction holds up on real water!

Color Fish from the Harbor

Color fun fish species from the harbor and learn more about underwater wildlife.

Give Yourself Fins

Dive into the dress-up clothes and try being a wave or a fish with fins. Which water creature suits you best?

Practical Info:

Free participation with paid admission. Children must be accompanied by an adult. No registration required—just show up!

The workshop is created in collaboration with WWF, By & Havn, Naturcenter Amager Strand, Den Grønne Kutter, and Østersbuddet.
