A Walk Through Time: Copenhagen’s Architecture
Tour and Exhibition
Explore some of Copenhagen’s most iconic historic and contemporary architectural landmarks.
Travel through time with the Danish Architecture Center (DAC) on this perfect introduction to Copenhagen’s past, present, and future. Through the inner city and along a bustling harbor, DAC Guides share the stories behind the city’s history, culture, art, people, and architecture. From the 1700s to the present day – each stop on the tour explores a different century. Through quiet parks and lively public plazas, we’ll discover famous national icons and also reveal those hidden in plain sight.
Our tour begins at BLOX, new home of the Danish Architecture Center (OMA, 2018). We’ll also visit the brightly colored, postcard-famous houses at Nyhavn, as well as Christiansborg Palace – home of the Danish parliament; Magasin du Nord department store; the Royal Danish Theater; and the National Bank of Denmark designed by famed Danish modernist Arne Jacobsen.
Meet: Danish Architecture Center Welcome desk, Bryghuspladsen 10
