As the patron of the Danish Architecture Center (DAC), H.M. The King attended the opening of the exhibition Water is Coming at DAC on October 7, 2024. Upon arrival, The King was welcomed by Jacob Holm, Chairman of the Board at DAC, Jesper Nygård, CEO of Realdania, and Kent Martinussen, CEO of DAC.
The exhibition addresses the significant challenges cities face in light of climate change, including rising sea levels and increased rainfall. Water is Coming delves into the relationship between water, people, and nature in a rapidly changing world, presenting inspiring solutions for how we can live with water in the future.
H.M. The King was given a guided tour of the exhibition, where he was introduced to the many approaches to climate adaptation – from local initiatives to large infrastructure projects, and from nature-based solutions to technical constructions. The exhibition invites visitors to reflect on various perspectives and form their own opinions to foster valuable dialogue about the future of climate adaptation.
Following the tour, The King attended several speeches, including those by DAC’s CEO Kent Martinussen, Realdania’s CEO Jesper Nygård, and the exhibition’s senior curator Pernille Stockmarr.
The exhibition will be open at the Danish Architecture Center from October 7, 2024, to March 23, 2025.
