Danish Architecture Center invites everyone to a fun-filled summer packed with exciting architectural experiences. Discover how architecture takes shape when we reuse materials instead of throwing them away – or dive into fascinating stories of Danish design and architecture from the Viking Age to today.
Visiting with kids? Stop by our cozy family workshop, where we play with recycling and architecture – and engage both body and senses.
For children and families
Build and Print – Inspired by Recycle!
Architecture is for kids, too! Step into our cozy family workshop, where we explore recycling and architecture – hands-on and through all the senses. Inspired by DACs current exhibition Recycle!, this workshop offers creative activities for both children and adults.
In the footsteps of an architect
You can also go on an architectural treasure hunt and make your own sketchbook from recycled paper. Explore all of DAC as you solve fun architectural challenges in your very own sketchbook – just like a real architect!
Exhibitions
Recycle!
April 11 – September 10, 2025
The exhibition explores how beauty and reuse go hand in hand to shape a more sustainable future. Discover how old materials and buildings are given new life through creativity and innovation – from weathered bricks to groundbreaking circular solutions.
So Danish!
Denmark’s national gallery of architecture
So Danish! is Danish Architecture Center’s first permanent exhibition on Danish architecture. The exhibition unfolds the history of Danish architecture from the Viking Age to present day and gives you the opportunity to travel into the architecture and understand how absolutely vital it is to our democratic society.
Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow
February 28, 2025 – February 28, 2026
From 2001 to 2014, photographer Peter Funch lived in New York City. Every day, he spent hours capturing the daily rhythms and random encounters of thousands of people. This effort resulted in two photo series, Babel Tales and 42nd and Vanderbilt, which you can experience in the exhibition.
Meet Me Here
June 18, 2025 – January 4, 2026
DAC’s Gallery Stairs are transformed into a living installation. You’re invited to be truly present – not just online, but with your whole body and attention. The digital and the physical merge into a single space where the senses awaken, people cross paths, and unexpected moments emerge.
Exhibition and Community Dinner
A Guided Tour and a Taste of Conscious Living
June 30 – August 4
This summer, join us for six Monday evenings dedicated to reuse and vegetarian dining. As part of the CopenPay campaign to raise tourists’ awareness about making more conscious choices, these 6 evenings offer a chance to explore creative ways of giving new life to discarded materials — all while enjoying a cozy vegetarian meal in the DAC Café.
