Did you know that there are actually people living in BLOX on Bryghuspladsen square? And now you can see what it’s like to live at the top of such a distinctive building. Open House invites you to visit one of the 22 apartments in the BLOX building.

BLOX has been called everything from a “must-see” to an “abomination”. The distinctive, quadratic glass building on the waterfront between the Danish Royal Library’s Black Diamond and the Langebro bridge is probably best known for housing DAC – Danish Architecture Center. The building with the many stacked boxes has both ardent admirers and opponents. But regardless of how you feel about BLOX, the building has brought new life to an otherwise desolate part of the city.

Visually, the stacked boxes call to mind the many shipping containers that once lined the harbor. And the many shades of green are a reflection of both the harbor waters and Copenhagen’s verdigris spires.

Peaceful, in the Heart of the City

The 4th and 5th floors of BLOX are home to 22 apartments, between 120 and 200 square meters in size, with floor-to-ceiling windows and large terraces providing unique views of the city and harbor. And despite the fact that the entire building is placed right on top of one of Copenhagen’s busiest roads, the residential area on top of BLOX is remarkably peaceful.

In addition to the exhibitions at Danish Architecture Center, the building houses a design shop, gym, Danish Design Center and BLOXHUB –a co-working facility for startups, established businesses and organizations working with sustainable urban development.

See the City from a New Angle

Open House offers a rare opportunity to take a look inside a private home at one of Copenhagen’s most exclusive addresses. You will also see the city and the harbor froma new perspective that few get to experience.

Every apartment in BLOX offers amazing views and beautiful light from the giant windows.
