What is CopenPay?

Photo: Dansk Arkitektur Center (DAC) CopenPay is an initiative by Wonderful Copenhagen, the capital’s official tourism organisation, which rewards visitors for making more conscious choices when experiencing the city. The aim is to inspire more responsible travel habits and create greater awareness of the choices we make when we travel.
DAC is one of the participating attractions, and for us, CopenPay is about sustainable architecture, green transition and the choices that shape the cities of the future.
CopenPay Experiences at DAC
As part of CopenPay, DAC invites visitors to guided tours every Monday in 2026, where we explore how architecture can help us build, live and develop cities more sustainably.
The tour focuses, among other things, on reusing existing buildings, making better use of resources and the role of architecture in the green transition. At the same time, we explore how architecture shapes our everyday lives and the choices we make when we build, live in and develop our cities.
After the tour, the conversation continues over a vegetarian communal dinner in DAC’s Rooftop Café, with views of the city and harbour. Here, local Copenhageners and visitors from around the world meet for conversations about architecture, everyday life and sustainable choices.
The tour and dinner take place in English, as many of the guests are international visitors. Local Copenhageners are also welcome.
Sustainability at DAC
Sustainability is not only a theme in DAC’s events. It is also part of the way the house is run.
As part of DAC’s Green Attraction certification, we actively work with reuse and documentation of materials in our exhibitions. For example, the exhibition Age of Nature has been registered down to the smallest screw, so the materials can be traced and reused. The scenography is built from previous DAC installations.
When you visit DAC through CopenPay, you therefore encounter both the story of green transition and concrete examples of how it can take shape in a cultural institution.
