AfterDAC International Talk: Rune Lykkeberg in conversation with Jan-Werner Müller
AfterDAC International Talk is a series where you meet internationally influential voices from the worlds of architecture and art. In collaboration with Informations Forlag, AfterDAC International Talk welcomes political theorist Jan-Werner Müller for a conversation on the relationship between architecture and democracy. The discussion will be moderated by Rune Lykkeberg, Editor-in-Chief of the Dagbladet Information.

Can Architecture Ever Be Democratic?
Architecture is never just about aesthetics. Every building and every public space reflect decisions about power, access, participation, and who gets to shape the places we share.
Jan-Werner Müller is a historian and Professor of Political Theory at Princeton University. An internationally acclaimed political thinker, he is the author of numerous books and a prominent voice in public debate through essays and columns in publications including The Guardian. In his latest book, Street, Square, Palace, Müller explores the relationship between public space and democratic engagement, introducing a new concept of democratic architecture. From Copenhagen to Cairo, and from Washington, D.C. to Berlin, he invites us to see our cities through fresh eyes.
At a time when democracy is under pressure in many parts of the world, this conversation asks a simple yet urgent question: If our buildings and cities shape the way we live together, can they also help us build a stronger democracy?
AfterDAC International Talk is a series of events featuring leading international voices from the worlds of architecture and art. This event is presented in collaboration with Informations Forlag, which has published the Danish edition of Street, Square, Palace.
