Build for the Collective Island
Matchstick houses, snail patterns, and giant cardboard caves. Stop by DAC’s family workshop and let your imagination run wild!

Build a home from wood for our Collective Island, paint nature’s patterns with chalk made from natural pigments – or dive into constructing cardboard caves big enough for the whole family to crawl inside. Here, there’s room for play, creativity, and curiosity for children and their grown-ups. DAC’s hosts are ready to welcome you and guide you in building with matchsticks, experimenting with nature’s shapes, and creating fun mirror drawings.
Build the Future City – Using Only Matchsticks!
Join us as we build an entire city made only from matchsticks and glue guns. Inspired by Age of Nature, we play with form, scale, and expression as we build the city of the future. What kinds of buildings do you dream of creating? And how can we make space for people, animals, and nature in our shared city? Let your imagination run free and watch the matchsticks grow into new and surprising architectures.
Paint Nature with Nature
Explore nature’s repetitions and forms in sunflower heads, pinecones, and snail shells. With natural chalk, you can paint your own patterns – and on the mirror podium, you can watch them grow in new directions as they’re reflected before your eyes.
Build Caves
Work together to build giant caves out of cardboard. Use cardboard as walls and screws to hold everything together. Cushions and imagination are welcome when it’s time to make the cave cozy.
Practical Info
Participation is free with paid admission. Children enter for free but must be accompanied by an adult. No registration required – just show up!
