DAC’s 40th birthday

Thursday, March 26 marks exactly 40 years since the Danish Architecture Center first opened its doors. We’re celebrating the birthday with cake, special guided tours led by DAC staff, drinks, and AfterDAC — a talk hosted by Ane Cortzen! You can also bring the kids along to a Family Workshop, where you can design your own festive birthday flags.

Maybe we’ve been best friends for a long time. Maybe you’ve just been keeping an eye on us from a distance. Either way, you’re warmly invited to our 40th birthday celebration on March 26!

We’re serving birthday cake for the early birds along with choral singing. You’ll also get the chance to meet some of the people who usually work behind the scenes - the executive assistant, finance staff, exhibition architects, and more. On this special occasion, they’ll share insights into their work, their favorite buildings, and their favorite spots at DAC. They might even tell a tall tale or two from everyday life at BLOX.

All day long the Family Workshop is open, and everyone can design their very own birthday flags.

In the evening, we’ll round off the day with a special edition of AfterDAC, where host Ane Cortzen talks with two guests about what Copenhagen — and the world — might look like in 40 years (in Danish).

All day long, we’re offering a free drink to all dining guests at DAC Café.
