Exhibition Opening: What the BLOX

We’re kicking off 2026 with the opening of an exhibition that brings you close to the story of how Bryghuspladsen became BLOX. Shake off the January blues and soak up some light therapy as we also offer a sneak peek of Copenhagen Light Festival, featuring three light installations around DAC.

Time

-

From the very first groundbreaking, BLOX has both excited and provoked. BLOX divides the city - but why? In the exhibition ‘What the BLOX’ we explore how the building has shaped our perception of the harbor, the city, and one another.

About the film ’Rem’

Step inside the mind of architect Rem Koolhaas - the provocateur behind, among other projects, BLOX - in this documentary created by his son.

Three light installations

To mark Copenhagen Light Festival, DAC will present three light installations around the building, all illuminated for the opening. Experience the wingbeat of a giant bird, step into a house where small points of light and smoke create a unique atmosphere or let yourself be immersed in organic blue forms. The works are created by Mikhel Pajuste, Lucy McDonnell, and Yashuro Chida / ARTshifters, and can be experienced until February 22. Read more here
