Time

Family Workshop: Design Your Own City Creature
Stop by the Educatorium and create your very own city creature! Draw, cut, and sew using fabric, yarn, and other materials, and find inspiration for shapes and colors in the exhibition Cities for People.
Meet an Architect
On World Architecture Day, you can experience DAC’s permanent exhibition So Danish! – completely free and from a new, personal perspective. In a series of short guided tours (about 20 minutes), members of the Danish Association of Architects will guide you through the exhibition, focusing on their personal favorites and perspectives on architecture, as well as sharing insights from their own work as architects.
This gives you a different entry point into architectural history – with an experienced architect by your side.
Guided Gallery Tours for kids: Architecture for All the Senses
Come explore DAC and discover architecture in a whole new way. We’ll use all our senses to investigate shapes, colors, materials, spaces, and sounds – looking, listening, touching, and playing our way through architecture.
The tour is designed for children ages 4–10 and their grown-ups, but everyone is welcome to join the fun.
Kids’ tours start at 12:00 and 15:00.
Guided Gallery Tours of Cities for People
What happens when we design cities around the people who live in them? Cities for People explores how the design of our cities shapes the way we move, meet, feel healthy, and experience a sense of belonging. The exhibition draws on Jan and Ingrid Gehl’s people-centered approach to cities and on the Gehl Studio’s work in cities around the world. Through real-life examples, discover how streets, squares, and public spaces can make room for urban life, community, and diversity.
In the 1960s, Jan and Ingrid Gehl helped shift the focus toward life between buildings and the way people experience the city. These ideas were presented in Jan Gehl’s groundbreaking book Life Between Buildings in 1971 and have since been developed and put into practice in cities around the world.
DJ at DAC’s Rooftop Café
Enjoy a well-deserved break at DAC Café with laid-back DJ lounge tunes and views of both the city and the harbor from our rooftop terraces.
Activities at Bryghuspladsen
Have you ever played cheese – or drawn a giant mosaic in chalk? Come out and play as we transform Bryghuspladsen from a gray concrete square into a colorful playground filled with activities, creativity, and community.
Exhibition Opening
How do urban spaces shape the way we move, our relationships, and our sense of belonging? That is the central theme of Cities for People, opening on World Architecture Day. Join us for the free opening celebration.
Opening speeches by Stine Lea Jacobi, Director of Philanthropy at Realdania, Helle Søholt, Founding Partner and Chair of the Board at Gehl, and Kent Martinussen, CEO of DAC.

About World Architecture Day
World Architecture Day was established by the International Union of Architects (UIA) in the mid-1980s with a simple idea: architecture affects all of us, so there should be a day when architecture opens up to everyone. Today, World Architecture Day is celebrated in countries around the world, including Denmark.
