What does it take to create a city where everyone can feel at home? In Cities for Everyone, students explore how architecture and urban spaces affect our well-being, communities and sense of belonging.
How do we create cities for everyone?
In the exhibition Cities for People, students explore the city’s streets, squares and meeting places. We look at what makes a place feel welcoming, safe and lively – and what it takes for different people to feel at home in the city.
Through sensory exercises, conversations and examples from cities around the world, students discover how architecture and urban spaces influence the way we meet, move around and live together.
The programme is ideal for teaching about architecture, urban development, society, communities, health and sustainable cities.

During the programme, students work with
- Sensory exploration and experience: We explore the city through the body and the senses and experience how different urban spaces affect us.
- Dialogue and reflection: We investigate how architecture and public spaces shape our everyday lives, wellbeing and communities.
- The city at a human scale: We explore what makes people feel safe, welcome and at home in the city.
- Personal experiences and perspectives: We take students’ own experiences of the city as a starting point and relate them to examples from cities around the world.
- Community and co-creation: We reflect on how urban spaces influence the way we meet and live together – and how we ourselves help shape the city.
