Capture Your City 2018: My Home in the City

Exhibition

Jun 8 - Oct 11, 2018

Capture Your City 2018 is DAC’s first outdoor exhibition at Bryghuspladsen in front of BLOX, curated from 2,600+ entries exploring the theme “my home in the city”.

From the 8th of June – 31st of August you could experience the 2018 Capture your city exhibition at Bryghuspladsen right in front of BLOX. On display were selected photographs from the more than 2.600 submissions from all over Denmark to the photo contest “Capture your city”. The contest was divided into two categories, one open for everyone and one for the schools.

The theme of the 2018 exhibition is my home in the city, which is closely knitted to DAC’s big opening exhibition Welcome Home. The photographs represent personal cross sections of the countless ways we can feel at home in the city – in urban neighborhoods, in natural surroundings, or in well-known spaces new and old.

You could discover the exhibition’s diversity through the different pictures of homeliness in the city. You could interact with the exhibition by angling the photos after the light and experience them in both a worm’s eye and a bird’s eye view.

A professional jury consisting of Jan Gehl, architect, Maja Dyrehauge, head of Copenhagen Photo Festival and Kristine Kern, head of the Fotografisk Center gallery, had selected the winners and the exhibited photos.
