Experience the transformation of Copenhagen Harbor from industrial port to recreational livable city with Danish Architecture Center on the Architecture Cruise.

The tour is offered Thursdays from 17 – 18.15 pm, and Sundays 11- 12.15 pm. The duration is 1 hour and 15 minutes.

Copenhagen Harbor is the backbone in the latest architectural development in central Copenhagen. This cruise takes you past important cultural landmarks such as the Opera and Skuespilhuset (the Royal Playhouse), the upcoming Vandkulturhus (Waterfront Culture Center) designed by Japanese Architect Kengu Kuma, former industrial silos that have been transformed into first class luxury apartments, and the star-shaped UN Village situated right next to a very popular harbor bathing facility in Nordhavn, one of the city's exciting new districts.

Together, these buildings are part of the overall narrative of why Copenhagen has been praised so often as the most livable city in the world. Copenhagen Harbor is also about keeping the area open for all Copenhageners, and not just the wealthy few who can afford to live in this attractive maritime neighborhood.

The tour provides insight into the transformation of Copenhagen. Learn about the urban development of Copenhagen since the 19th century and explore how history and the Danish welfare society have influenced today’s architecture.
