Not many years ago, this part of the Port of Copenhagen was workers in blue overalls, dirty machinerys, and the clamor and clatter of industry. Today, we discover a harbor with recreation, housing, and cultural institutions – often beautifully designed following sustainable guidelines. The Nordhavn district has been enriched with many prizewinning buildings, transformations of industrial silos, an expanded Metro line, and well-preserved traces of the historical harbor industry.
Our tour begins at DAC in BLOX. From here we’ll walk together to the nearest Metro station (M4) and start our walking tour from the Nordhavn Station area. Highlights of the tour include: the masterplan of Nordhavn (Cobe, 2008), Frihavns Tower (Praksis, 2017), Lüders parking garage (JAJA Architects, 2016), Nordøen (Tredje Natur, Vilhelm Lauritzen, 2024), The Silo (Cobe, 2017), BIGs HQ (BIG, 2023) and much more.
