Children’s Workshop: Quirky Fish Hotels

Kids and Family

Date

October 7, 2024

Time

10.00 – 19.00
Come and help create hideaways for small fish. Decorate seashells for our shared fish hotels and learn about the fun fish species in the harbor through drawing activities.

At the Educatorium, together with DAC hosts, you can explore underwater life through fun and creative activities inspired by the exhibition Water is Coming. We’ll dive beneath the surface of the sea, learn more about underwater life, and design architecture for species other than ourselves!

Help the Fish – Create Quirky Fish Hotels

Have you heard of insect hotels? Now you can help small fish by decorating mussel and oyster shells. These will later be submerged at Amager Beach as part of a fish hotel that you can visit next summer. Take a decorated shell home as a keepsake.

Color Fish from the Harbor

Color fun fish species from the harbor and learn more about the underwater wildlife.

Give Yourself Fins

Dive into dress-up clothes and try being a wave or a fish with fins. What water form suits you best?

Practical Info

The activities are part of Architecture Day, so participation is completely free. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Families can drop in without registration. Institutions and primary school classes are also welcome during the day but are asked to book their visit in advance here.  The workshop is created in collaboration with WWF, By & Havn, Naturcenter Amager Strand, Den Grønne Kutter, and Østersbuddet.
