Danish Architecture Center

Danish architecture center and China building center sign cooperation agreement

In their cooperation agreement with the China Building Center, the Danish Architecture Center is opening the door to the biggest construction market in the world. The agreement sets out to strengthen export opportunities for Danish and Chinese companies, and to enhance the sharing of knowledge amongst authorities, investors and organisations in the two countries.

“We are delighted to sign a cooperation agreement with the China Building Center. The agreement will increase the scope, and raise the level of our activities both in Denmark and abroad,” says Mikkel Kragh, Head of DAC& BUILD at the Danish Architecture Center.

Mikkel Kragh adds: “DAC is on an exciting journey. We intend to expand our global perspective and increase cooperation across borders. We have now strengthened our relationship with China. The country is a major operator in terms of the future of architecture and construction, and the agreement provides us with auspicious opportunities for closer networks, conferences, study trips and export campaigns.”

Last year the Danish Architecture Center signed a working agreement with the Center for Liveable Cities in Singapore. So the cooperation agreement with the China Building Center will further expand their global involvement.

At the time of writing, the agreement covers five areas, on which the two parties pledge to cooperate. The five areas are: (1) Global conferences; (2) International networking and B2B matchmaking; (3) knowledge-sharing; (4) Publication; and (5) Courses and educational programs.

Part of the new DAC

The cooperation agreement is part of the strategy for the new DAC, which, in a few years time, will be moving into the heart of BLOX on Copenhagen’s waterfront as a neighbour to the Black Diamond. The idea is to become an international destination, where visitors can discover Danish architecture, construction, urban development and design. That is why DAC constantly devotes itself to developing the organisation’s global perspective and promoting the evolution of Danish architecture, construction and urban development on both the national and international levels.

-The China Building Center (CBC) is an integrated service platform for construction and urban development in China. CBC aims to raise the level of quality in urban development by proactively establishing collaborations between major operators and sharing knowledge, expertise and best practice to benefit the whole construction sector in China.

-BLOX is going to be Copenhagen’s new rallying point with shops, a café and a restaurant, businesses, housing and a new, incredibly attractive cultural plaza. Realdania is creating BLOX with the vision of uniting the city and the harbour and creating a new cultural and commercial hub in Copenhagen.
