The holiday spirit has arrived and brought warmth and coziness to the Danish Architecture Center.
In November and December, we invite visitors of all ages to enjoy holiday activities and exciting architecture experiences. Visit our exhibition Water is Coming to explore how we might live in future cities as water levels rise. If you’re visiting with children, stop by our family workshop, where you can create personalized holiday gifts, fold Christmas stars from DAC posters, and make fun New Year’s hats. You can also slide down four floors through the building. End your visit in our café with delicious food and the scent of holiday spices. See you there!

Exhibitions
Water is Coming
October 7, 2024 – March 23, 2025
The exhibition Water is Coming shows what kind of reality we look into when the water comes. Should we entrench ourselves or should we live with the water? How do we avoid devastating floods? Can you extract quality of life and beauty from the boring climate protection? And what can we learn about building with water as a new condition when we go back in history or look out into the world?
So Danish!
The national gallery of architecture
Experience Danish Architecture Center’s national gallery for Danish architecture. The exhibition unfolds the history of Danish architecture from the Viking Age to the present day, offering you the opportunity to delve into architecture and understand how crucial it is to our democratic society.
Taste of Christmas
Enjoy the holiday season at our café
Take a break from the holiday hustle and bustle and enjoy the café’s delicious Christmas menu with a view of the city’s rooftops. Finish off with our fantastic crispy Christmas cookies and a warm glass of the traditional gløgg, also known as mulled wine.
Host a Christmas party or holiday luncheon at DAC Café
Celebrate your Christmas party or this year’s holiday luncheon in spectacular surroundings. Our head chef offers a creative reinterpretation of Christmas classics in the form of a buffet, while still respecting the traditional dishes we all love, such as Ris à la Mande.
Your event can be combined with an introduction and guided tour of our current exhibitions before the party begins.
Shop for gifts at DAC Design Shop
DAC Design Shop
Hunt for great Christmas gifts for both young and old at DAC Design Shop. Here, you’ll find everything from colorful paper koi fish from Japan and notebooks about life in the sea to decorative ceramics, posters, and jewelry featuring new Danish designs. We also offer a wide selection of exciting books on design and architecture.
Explore the City
Guided tours
Embark on one of DACs guided city tours. For example, explore the tour Copenhagen: World Capital of Architecture and get insight into why this honor has been bestowed upon Copenhagen.
DAC app: Copenhagen Architecture Guide
You can also explore the Christmas city on your own. Find inspiration in our app, where you can read about five churches in Copenhagen worth visiting during the holiday season. See the illuminated spire of Our Saviour’s Church, and read about the Church of Our Lady’s distinct architectural style. A common feature of all the churches is that their decorations are guided by the architecture itself.
